Memories.net Alternatives: 6 Sites for a Funeral Tribute or Memory Book
The short answer: Memories (memories.net) is a paid all-in-one funeral toolkit: US$99 one time, plus US$12 per life story per year for hosting, when we checked in October 2026. If you need several of its tools at once, that is fair value. If you only need one thing, a specialist is usually cheaper or free: Ever Loved for a free obituary, guest book and fundraiser; Kudoboard for a group memory board you can print as a book; Tribute for a group video to play at the service; and ForeverMissed, GetMemorial or MuchLoved for a memorial page that stays open after the funeral.
Most people find Memories in the worst week of their life, with a funeral to arrange and a dozen small jobs to finish. A single tool that writes the obituary, builds the order of service and makes the video sounds like relief. Sometimes it is. But it helps to know what each piece costs elsewhere, and which pieces you actually need.
What Memories Offers
Memories is run by Memories Labs, Inc. When we checked its site on 9 October 2026, it listed six tools:
- A video tribute builder
- A biography, obituary and eulogy writer, "assisted by AI"
- An order of service booklet builder
- A digital guest book
- An online memorial
- A hardcover memory book builder
Pricing is two parts. Unlimited Access is US$99, one time, and covers unlimited life stories and media storage. On top of that is an Ongoing Hosting and Care Plan at US$12 per life story per year, billed annually. The site also has a "Start for free" button with "No credit card required", but we could not find what the free start includes or where it stops. The FAQ asks whether you can print physical keepsakes, but we could not see an answer or a print price.
Two things worth asking before you pay. First, what happens to the memorial if the yearly hosting is not renewed? We could not find that written down. Second, if you only plan to keep one memorial online, ten years of hosting adds US$120 to the US$99, so the long-term cost is closer to US$219 than US$99.
Memories is also the company that HeavenAddress merged into. If you came here looking for an old HeavenAddress page, read our HeavenAddress review first.
The Six Alternatives at a Glance
The ordering rule: the list is split into two groups by what you are trying to make. First come the tools for the funeral itself (obituary, guest book, video). Then come memorial pages that stay open afterwards. Inside each group, sites are in alphabetical order. Every entry is labelled with its group so you can check. We make one of them, GetMemorial, and have marked it.

For the Funeral Itself
1. Ever Loved — Funeral · Free, optional premium
Ever Loved covers more of the Memories toolkit than anyone else here, and most of it is free. Its obituary writer is free and offers either an AI-written draft or a template. Its funeral guest book, where people leave photos, stories and condolences, is free. The memorial site that holds all of this also takes funeral details, RSVPs, a livestream link and flower orders.
The one paid tier is a one-time US$199.99 premium, which adds password protection, control over who can post, and removal of other Ever Loved links. Fundraising carries no Ever Loved fee, but card processing of 2.9% + 30¢ comes out of each donation.
What it does not do: no tribute video and no printed book. It is built around an American funeral, so if the service is somewhere else, parts of it will feel like they were made for someone else. More in our Ever Loved alternatives piece.
2. Kudoboard — Funeral · Free mini board, US$99 full board
Kudoboard is the closest match to Memories' digital guest book and memory book. You share one link, and friends and colleagues post photos, messages and video clips onto a single board. No one needs an app.
The memorial version has a free Mini Memorial Board of up to 10 posts, and a Full Memorial Board at US$99 one time with unlimited posts. You can order the finished board as a hardbound book or a poster, or download a high-resolution copy and print it yourself. The pricing page did not show a price for the printed book.
Ten posts runs out fast at a funeral. If more than a handful of people will contribute, plan on the US$99 board.
3. Tribute — Funeral · Paid, from US$35
Tribute does one thing: it collects short video messages from family and friends and puts them together with photos and music into one video to play at the service. If the video is the part of Memories you actually wanted, this is a stronger tool for it.
You can draft for free, but you pay before you start collecting videos. Do-it-yourself editing starts at US$35 for a video up to 30 minutes. Concierge, at US$99, has Tribute's editors trim clips, balance the sound and build the video for you; it takes two to three business days per round. US$149 adds a 7-inch video book that plays the film when opened.
Set the deadline for messages a few days before the service. We compared it with Kudoboard in Kudoboard vs Tribute, and our memorial slideshow guide covers the free, do-it-yourself route.
Memorial Pages That Stay Open
The funeral ends. Most of what people want to say about someone comes later: the story told at Christmas, the photo found in a drawer two years on. These three are built for that part.
4. ForeverMissed — Lasting page · Free basic, paid premium
One of the longest-running memorial website builders. A page holds a biography, stories, tributes and galleries, and the site says it never shows ads.
The Basic plan is free but holds only 5 photos. Premium is US$79.95 a year, and Lifetime is US$159.95 once, both with unlimited photos, music and video, and a 14-day free trial. There is a 30-day money-back guarantee. See our Forever Missed alternatives for more.
5. GetMemorial — Lasting page · Free, optional premium · Editor's Pick ⭐
Ours, so weigh this with that in mind.
Creating a memorial page is free. The person who sets it up adds photos in albums and writes the life story. Anyone signed in can leave a message, light a virtual candle or leave an offering. You choose whether the page is public or "Only visible to me". You can share it through your phone's share sheet or as a QR code saved as an image, which is easy to print on a funeral program or a card. There are apps for iPhone and Android and a web version, which matters when most relatives will only ever open it on a phone. A paid premium tier exists for families who want more.
What GetMemorial does not do, plainly: no tribute video maker, no obituary or eulogy writer, no printed memory book, no fundraising, and no newspaper obituary listing. It does not send anniversary reminders, and it does not notify you when someone leaves a new message. If you need any of those, pair it with one of the funeral tools above, or use Memories.
6. MuchLoved — Lasting page · Free
A UK registered charity (no. 1118590). Its homepage says each page is "yours, free, for as long as you wish", and we saw no paid plans listed there. Its real strength is giving in memory: collecting donations for a chosen charity. It is shaped by UK bereavement services, but anyone can use it. Our MuchLoved alternatives article goes into more detail.
How to Choose
Start with what you are actually making, not with the site.
- You need an obituary written this week: Ever Loved's writer is free. Our guide on how to write an obituary helps if you would rather write it yourself.
- You want a book of messages from everyone: Kudoboard, then print it. For wording, see what to write in a funeral guest book.
- You want a video for the service: Tribute.
- You want a page the family keeps adding to for years: ForeverMissed, GetMemorial or MuchLoved.
- You need three or more of these, and quickly: Memories may well be the simplest answer. Just ask about the yearly hosting first.
Many families end up with two tools: one for the funeral week and one that stays open. That is fine. Whatever you choose, keep your own copy of the photos and the life story. No website can honestly promise forever. If you want a wider list of memorial sites, see best online memorial websites.
