Remembered.com Alternatives: What It Costs and 5 Options

Get Memorial · Sep 10, 2026 · 阅读约 8 分钟

Most people who search for Remembered.com alternatives have already started a page there. You created the free memorial in the week after the funeral, uploaded what photos you had on your phone, and shared the link. Now you're back — either because you've hit a limit, or because you're about to pay for an upgrade and you'd like to know what else is out there first.

That's a reasonable place to stop and look around. Memorial pages are one of the few things people build once and expect to keep for decades, and the cost of moving goes up every month that family keeps adding to it.

This is an honest look: what Remembered.com does well, the one thing about its pricing that genuinely frustrates people, and five alternatives sorted by what you're actually trying to do — not by a quality ranking we'd have no way of proving.

What Remembered.com Does Well

It's worth being fair before we talk about leaving.

The free tier is real, and it's the whole premise. Their own support page puts it plainly: "We believe every person should be remembered and provide a basic memorial free of charge." That isn't a trial. A basic memorial with a life story, an album and a wall for visitors costs nothing, and plenty of families never pay anything.

Pages aren't quietly retired. Also from their support page: memorials are not removed unless the family asks or the page breaks the terms of use. That's a meaningful commitment, and not every free platform makes it.

Contribution is easy for non-technical family. Email and Facebook invites, a memorial wall anyone can post to, and no account setup gymnastics for the cousin who just wants to leave a message. If your family is spread out and mostly over sixty, this matters more than any feature list.

The life-story timeline and tribute video are genuinely nice. A chronological timeline with photos attached to years reads better than a wall of images, and being able to assemble a tribute video without opening video editing software saves a real afternoon.

If those things describe what you need, you may not need an alternative at all.

The One Thing That Sends People Looking

Remembered.com does not publish a price.

Their support page says an enhanced memorial costs "a one-time fee" and points you at the Features page. The number itself doesn't appear in the FAQ. Third-party roundups quote figures scattered from around $19.95 up to roughly $80, which is a wide enough spread that at least some of it is out of date.

We're not going to pick one of those numbers and print it as fact. What we'd tell a family member is simpler:

Before you pay, get the current price and exactly what it unlocks in writing — on the Features page or from support. If a platform is asking for a one-time payment meant to last forever, it should be willing to tell you the number before you're in the checkout.

The second thing people run into is capacity. Reviewers have reported the free album capping out around a hundred photos, with images compressed on upload. If you're working from a shoebox of scanned prints, you'll meet that ceiling. It isn't unusual — most free tiers have one — but it's worth knowing before you spend a weekend digitizing old family photos.

Five Alternatives, Sorted by What You're Trying to Do

No ranking by "quality" here. Each of these is genuinely better than the others at one specific thing, and you can check every claim below yourself in about five minutes on each site.

1. If you want a permanent page and a phone app: GetMemorial ⭐ Editor's Pick

Full disclosure, this is us. A memorial page you can create and maintain from an iOS app, with a public web page family can open on anything. Photos, stories, tributes and offerings in one place, with privacy controls so a page can stay within the family.

What we don't do, so you can decide fairly: there's no Android app yet (it's in development), we don't run obituary placement in newspapers, we don't do fundraising, and we don't send anniversary reminders. The app is available in English, Spanish and Simplified Chinese.

2. If you want long-form biography: Forever Missed

Nearly two decades old, and still the most comfortable place to write a book-length life story with chapters and embedded images. The tradeoff is advertising on the free tier and an interface that shows its age. We've written the full breakdown of Forever Missed's free tier and pricing separately.

3. If the funeral is still being paid for: Ever Loved

Ever Loved's centre of gravity is the funeral itself — provider listings, cost comparison, and a memorial page attached to the arrangements. If you're still in the middle of planning and paying, having the memorial live next to that is genuinely useful. See Ever Loved's free tier explained for what the free page includes.

4. If you need something in the next 48 hours: Kudoboard

Not a memorial site — a shared board where dozens of people post a message and a photo, fast. Perfect for collecting tributes before a service. It's not built to be the permanent home, so treat it as a collection step, then move what people wrote into the page that lasts.

5. If you're in the UK and raising money for a charity: MuchLoved

A registered UK charity itself, with in-memory donation handling that's built for UK gift aid rather than bolted on. If a proportion of what you're doing is fundraising for a hospice or a research charity, this is the one that fits the paperwork.

How to Move a Page Without Losing What Family Wrote

If you decide to move, the messages other people left are the part you can't recreate. Everything else you already have.

  1. Copy the wall before anything else. Open the memorial, scroll to the very bottom, and copy every tribute into a plain document with the name and date attached to each one. This is tedious and it is the only irreversible part.
  2. Pull the photos down at full size. Right-click and save from the album view, not from thumbnails. Compressed uploads mean the version on the site may already be smaller than your original — use your originals where you still have them.
  3. Rebuild in the new place before you touch the old one. Life story, dates, photos, then paste the tributes back in chronologically.
  4. Leave the old page up as a signpost. Edit the first line to read "This memorial has moved to [new link]." Family who bookmarked the old address in 2024 will still find their way.
  5. Send one message, not five. One note to the family group with the new link and a sentence explaining why. Multiple announcements make people think something has gone wrong.

Don't delete the old memorial for at least a year. There is no upside to doing it sooner, and no way back if you missed something.

Common Questions

Is Remembered.com actually free? The basic memorial is, and their support page states memorials aren't removed unless the family requests it. Enhancements are a one-time fee that isn't listed in the FAQ — check the Features page for the current figure before paying.

Can I move a Remembered.com page somewhere else automatically? No. No memorial platform offers an export or import tool for another platform's pages. Anything you move, you move by hand — which is why copying the tribute wall first is the step that matters.

Should I pay for the upgrade or start again elsewhere? If family have already written on the wall, upgrading is usually the cheaper choice in effort even when it's more expensive in money. If the page is a week old and only you have posted, moving costs you almost nothing.

What should I check before committing to any memorial platform? Three things: whether the page stays up without a recurring payment, whether you can get your photos back out at full resolution, and who can see it by default. Our cost comparison over ten years covers the first, and which platforms are genuinely free covers the pricing traps.
