HeavenAddress Review: Is It Still Working, What Happened to the Pages, and 4 Alternatives

Get Memorial · Oct 8, 2026 · 阅读约 8 分钟

The short answer: as of October 2026, HeavenAddress is not working as a memorial site. The homepage still loads and says that HeavenAddress "has merged with Memories", but when we checked on 8 October 2026, the pages behind it — the memorial listings, the upgrade page, the FAQ, "Light a Candle" — all returned "This Page Does Not Exist", and both app store links on the homepage led to listings that no longer exist. If someone you love has a memorial there, assume it may not come back on its own. Save what you can find now, contact Memories, and plan to rebuild the page somewhere you control.

Most reviews of a memorial site are about features and price. This one cannot be, because the more urgent question for anyone searching for HeavenAddress is simpler: is my mother's page still there? So this review starts with what we found, then covers how to get your material back, and only then compares where to go next.

What HeavenAddress Was

HeavenAddress was an Australian online memorial site, based in Canberra. Families created a memorial page for a loved one, and visitors could leave messages, light a virtual candle, plant a virtual tree, and find the physical resting place through a "Resting Place" directory. It also had family name pages, community groups, photo walls, an obituaries section, and a list of upcoming services. The interface was available in English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese and Vietnamese, which made it unusually popular with multilingual families.

Creating a memorial was free. The site sold an upgrade to a newer page design, and the homepage still advertises it: "Your loved one's memorial page design is almost a decade old. Perhaps it's time to upgrade to a new design," with a 30-day refund on the upgrade fee. We could not check the price, because the upgrade page itself no longer loads.

According to CB Insights, HeavenAddress was acquired by Memories in December 2020. The homepage footer still reads "© 2020 HeavenAddress".

What We Found When We Checked (8 October 2026)

We opened every main link from the homepage in a full browser, not just with a simple script, to rule out a bot blocker.

The Internet Archive gives a rough date for when this happened. Its copy of the "Latest memorials" page loaded normally in November 2024, and by May 2025 the same address returned a 404. So the pages appear to have gone dark at some point in the six months between.

None of this tells us whether the memorials themselves were deleted, moved into Memories, or are simply unreachable. We could not confirm any of those, and we would rather say so than guess. What we can say is that a family member who types in the old address today will not find the page.

If Your Family's Memorial Was on HeavenAddress

Work through these in order. The first two cost nothing and take ten minutes.

1. Find the exact address. Search your email for "heavenaddress" — the confirmation email, a share message, or a link someone sent at the funeral. A precise URL is far more useful than a name.

2. Check the Internet Archive. Paste that address into the Wayback Machine at web.archive.org. If the page was public and visited, there may be a saved copy with the life story, messages and some photos. Copy the text out and save any images you can open. Do this now; archived copies are your best surviving record.

3. Contact Memories. HeavenAddress says it merged with them, so they are the people to ask whether your memorial's content still exists and whether it can be exported. Memories lists support@memories.net as its contact address. Give them the memorial's URL, the name, the dates, and the email address that created it. Ask one clear question: can you send us a copy of the text and photos from this memorial?

4. Gather the originals from family. Most of the photos on any memorial came from someone's phone or a shoebox. Ask the relatives who contributed. The messages visitors left are harder to recover — which is why step 2 matters.

5. Rebuild, and keep your own copy this time. Whatever platform you choose next, keep the life story in a document and the photos in a folder you own. A memorial site is a place to share the material, not the only place it lives.

This is the uncomfortable lesson of HeavenAddress, and it applies to every platform, including ours: no website can honestly promise forever. We wrote more about what "permanent" should actually mean in permanent online memorial, and about what happens to a page when the person who made it dies in who inherits an online memorial.

Four Alternatives

The ordering rule: the direct successor comes first, then free platforms, then platforms with a paid tier. Each entry is labelled so you can check the rule yourself. I work on one of these and have marked it.

1. Memories — Paid (one-time fee plus yearly hosting)

The company HeavenAddress merged into, so it is the first place to ask about your old memorial. Today Memories (memories.net, run by Memories Labs, Inc.) is a broader funeral toolkit: tribute videos, an obituary and eulogy writer, an order of service builder, a digital guest book, a memory book builder and an online memorial.

Its published pricing is US$99 one-time for unlimited access, plus an ongoing hosting plan of US$12 per life story per year. That is a reasonable price for the full toolkit if you are also making a video and a printed book. It is a lot if all you want is the memorial page you used to have for free.

2. MuchLoved — Free

A UK registered charity. Memorial pages are free, carry no ads, and have no premium tier. Its real strength is in-memory donations to charities. It is built around the UK bereavement sector, but nothing stops an Australian family using it. More in MuchLoved alternatives.

3. GetMemorial — Free, with optional upgrade · Editor's Pick ⭐

Ours. A free memorial holds the life story, tributes and up to 50 photos, stays online with no time limit, and has no ads on any plan. Premium is $4.99 a month or $89.99 once for a lifetime memorial, and adds unlimited photos, video, premium themes and background music. If a subscription stops, the memorial returns to the free plan; the page, its photos and the messages people left are not deleted. There are apps for iPhone and Android, which matters when most of the family will only ever look at it on a phone.

Where it is honestly weaker for a former HeavenAddress family: the interface is in English, Spanish and Simplified Chinese only — no Traditional Chinese, Portuguese or Vietnamese. There is no "Resting Place" directory and no virtual tree-planting. Visitors can leave messages and light a candle; photos in the albums are added by the person who created the memorial.

4. Ever Loved — Free

Free memorial pages with no ads, built around an American funeral: service details, RSVPs and an optional fundraiser, which is where the company earns its money. Clean and well maintained. Less of a fit if you want a multilingual page or a long-term photo archive. We compared it in depth in Ever Loved alternatives.

If none of these fits, our longer best online memorial websites list covers more options, including Forever Missed.

How to Choose

  • You want your old memorial back: start with Memories (step 3 above), whatever you decide afterwards.
  • You want the same kind of free page and you are in the UK, Australia or New Zealand: MuchLoved.
  • Family will keep adding photos for years, mostly from phones: GetMemorial.
  • The funeral is still ahead and you need RSVPs or a fundraiser: Ever Loved.

When you rebuild, the hardest part is not the platform. It is asking everyone to send their photos and stories again. Our guide on how to make a tribute page walks through it step by step, and share memories online has wording for the request.
